Two Effective Soft Tissue Techniques for Defeating your Pain
Dr. Kenneth Price and all the staff of Price Chiropractic Services in West Allis want you to know that our soft tissue techniques can offer you real pain relief without medication.
Why Do You Use Soft Tissue Techniques?
The short answer is because our soft tissues often are the most difficult to treat and take the longest to heal of all bodily injuries. When our bodies are stressed, worn, or injured soft tissues take the brunt of the injury. Soft tissue techniques treat and manage our body frame structure, so it returns to optimal performance.
We often use soft tissue techniques for strains, sprains, hypoxia, bursitis, tendonitis and microtrauma tears. Using these techniques prevents muscles from becoming weak or short and protects nerves from what is called nerve entrapment.
Nerve compression or entrapment is caused by direct pressure on a nerve. A herniated disk, for example, can often be treated without surgery trough nerve decompression easing pain, numbness, tingling, and muscle weakness.
What Kind of Soft Tissue Techniques do you Use?
We use several chiropractic therapies, among them a combination of massage therapies. Depending on our client’s specific needs these can include:
- Deep Tissue Massage
- Trigger point therapy
- Swedish Massage
One advantage of chiropractic massage therapy is it can not only offer therapeutic and healing benefits but be relaxing and enjoyable.
Ultrasound therapy is used to relax muscles, stimulate blood flow, and help stimulate the breakdown of scar tissue. By stimulating blood flow ultrasound therapy works to reduce chronic inflammation and swelling. Several studies also show it can also help promote the healing of bone fractures.
Ultrasound is not effective on all chronic pain but is often effective in reducing pain associated with:
- Sprains and strains
- Myofascial pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Phantom limb pain
- Pain caused by scar tissue
When most people hear the word “chiropractor,” they only think of backs and bones cracking. However, our soft tissue techniques offer a non-invasive to relieve many types of chronic pain. While twisting bones has a lot to do with the chiropractic process, there are a number of soft and gentle techniques that may help you with your pain.
