There are people who are very strong who have a weak core and there are weak people who have exceptional core stability. Your core involves both large muscles in your spine as well as tiny, intrinsic muscles. It includes posture, lifting techniques, and neurologic training with things like balance and coordination. People who have poor core strength are more likely to have injuries likeCore_Stability.jpg disc herniations and are more likely to re-injure themselves over and over. Core stabilization exercises may include exercise balls, resistance bands, wobble/balance boards, exercises using your own body weight and breathing exercises. Core stability exercises should be done on a regular basis with any exercise routine. Please don’t hesitate to ask Dr. Ken for guidance on how you can improve your health with core exercises.
